Volume share of the leading CSD brands in the U.S. 2022

Coca-Cola's share of the carbonated soft drinks (CSD) market in the U.S. amounted to roughly 19 percent in 2022, making it the CSD brand in the United States that year. Pepsi-Cola ranked second with a volume share of almost nine percent.

CSD consumption in the U.S.

In 2022, carbonated soft drinks were consumed by many Americans: while bottled water was consumed by roughly 25 percent of the U.S. population, almost 19 percent had drunk CSD. Per capita consumption of CSD has gone down in the United States since 2010. However, the numbers remain fairly high. In 2018, the average U.S. consumer drank almost 39 gallons of soft drinks.

Juices and sports drinks

People in the United States drank considerably lower amounts of juice and sports drinks compared to CSD: per capita consumption of juices stood at roughly 19 liters, and just over 29.5 liters of sports drinks were consumed per person in 2023. The use of juices had decreased slightly since 2010, while that of sports drinks had gone up marginally since 2014.
