Brazil is renowned for soccer, carnival, coffee, and caipirinha. The country's national drink made from sugar, lime, and cachaça, a sugarcane-based liquor, is a staple and often portrayed to be enjoyed on a sunny beach. Brazil's alcoholic drinks industry is diverse and growing, and the South American country is a major player in the market. In 2022, this sector generated a revenue of more than 42 billion U.S. dollars, and the country is expected to become the second largest global market for alcoholic beverages by 2027.
Beer
The alcoholic beverage market includes beer, wine, and spirits. Beer is the most consumed alcoholic beverage in Brazil, based on quantity. Beer consumption was expected to reach 10.4 billion liters by 2022. On the production side, the country was the second largest beer producer in the Americas, following the United States. Leading Brazilian beer brands such as Brahma, Skol, and Antarctica were among the country’s most valued brands in 2022. Beer also constitutes one of the most promising segments, as evidenced by the number of breweries registered in the country, which has grown at an outstanding pace and reached 1,729 establishments as of 2022.Wine

The southern state of Rio Grande do Sul is the most important region regarding vineyard surface area, wine production, sales volumes and exports. Cachaça, a distilled spirit produced from sugar cane, is the favorite hard alcoholic beverage among Brazilians. Brands such as Cachaça 51, Pitú, Velho Barreiro and Ypióca are increasing their international presence. In 2021, there were a total of 936 establishments producing cachaça in Brazil, which contributed to the over seven million liters exported of the drink that generated a value of around 13.2 million U.S. dollars.
